- Job Title: Caithness Citizen’s Advice Bureau
- Location: Thurso - Occasionally in our Wick office and will include some outreach work
- Hours per week: 25 hours per week
- Type of contract: Fixed-term contract – 1 year but could be extended subject to funding.
- Salary: £18’200 per annum (pro-rata)

Caithness Citizen’s Advice Bureau based in Caithness is an independent and innovative advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local people.
We are looking to employ an adviser to support our Thurso Bureau to provide a high standard of holistic advice and support across Caithness.
Key Responsibilities include –
- Undertake Adviser Training
- Interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow clients to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.
- Support clients to explore income maximisation opportunities.
- Use the Citizens Advice Information System to find, interpret and communicate the relevant information.
- Refer internally or to other specialist agencies as appropriate.
- Engage in outreach and community work.
Essential Criteria –
Experience
- Experience in customer facing environment.
- Recording accurate information.
- Experienced computer user
Skills
- Ability to communicate and establish good relationships with a range of people
- Deal with difficult situations in a calm, effective non-confrontational manner
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work under pressure
